Metric Marketing is looking for a strategic, resourceful, and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills to join our team as an SEO Manager. As the SEO Manager you will be responsible for the overall approach to SEO—planning, implementing, and managing SEO strategies that will drive organic traffic, engage qualified leads, and enhance the overall user experience on Metric’s own website, as well as on our clients’ sites.

This position requires collaboration with the Project Managers, Content Team, and Development Team in order to ensure digital marketing efforts are in alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives. Communication is key, as well as the understanding of how different aspects of our full-service agency tie into and support one another.

SEO Manager Job Summary

The SEO Manager is responsible for strategizing, implementing, communicating, and reporting on SEO initiatives and their impact on clients’ sites. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and analyze client sites for areas that can be improved and optimized
  • Conduct site audits, backlink audits, keyword research and competitor research
  • Develop and implement comprehensive long-term and short-term SEO strategies
  • Effectively communicate strategies to get buy-in from key stakeholders
  • Tackle multiple SEO projects at the same time
  • Enhance user experience and overall site functionality
  • Conduct regular SEO audits to identify SEO opportunities
  • Develop off-page optimization initiatives such as white-hat relationship building and link-building
  • Present findings and suggestions to clients
  • Provide SEO guidance and checklists for new website builds & redesigns
  • Manage a team of SEO professionals, as well as prioritizing and managing workloads
  • Collaborate with internal teams to produce engaging, relevant content and campaigns
  • Track KPIs, report rankings, and recommend tactics to optimize further
  • Stay on top of SEO best practices and marketing trends, and relay this information to the team

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in Search Engine Optimization (agency experience preferred)
  • Proven track record of delivering results that drive organic search traffic growth
  • Advanced knowledge of current search engine optimization best practices
  • Outstanding ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • Thorough understanding of website best practices and factors that impact search engine performance
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Fully comfortable operating a variety of programs, including ScreamingFrog, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Majestic, SEMRush, Moz, Ahrefs, and more
  • Microsoft Excel: Constructing pivot tables, using advanced formulas
  • Proven digital marketing experience, and a solid knowledge of marketing strategies
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Remote work is okay, but we prefer candidates who can come into our Ann Arbor office in person

Compensation 

  • Commensurate with education and experience; $60,000-$84,000
