How we helped Stoneridge increase traffic, leads, & revenue

Stoneridge Software reached out to Metric Marketing back in August 2019 after attending one of Hannah’s 4-hour SEO workshops at Digital Summit.

At Metric, we felt this at the deepest level. This was an instant cultural fit and a healthy, collaborative business partnership from the jump.

The working relationship between Metric and Stoneridge has been incredibly synergistic. Stoneridge has provided clear direction on internal business goals and revenue driving initiatives, and Metric has helped develop and execute digital marketing strategies that are aimed at accomplishing these goals.

Paid Ads: Return on Ad Spend

After doing an extensive amount of research to understand Stoneridge’s target personas, our team then prioritized these personas by profitability. From there, we conducted keyword research which informed our paid search campaigns and SEO efforts.

Once the campaigns were built out, we installed conversion tracking into their CRM which provided visibility into CRM activity. Within the first 2 months, there were 6 qualified deals generated.

This revenue resulted in a $32:$1 Return On Ad Spend, just from paid search alone.

For reference, a $4:$1 ROAS is typically a healthy target.

SEO: Keyword Visibility

In addition to paid ads, a significant amount of our resources were put into search engine optimization. SEO is a long game, but in a short period of time, Stoneridge has made significant progress. The below chart shows YoY growth for Stoneridge and shows position distribution up. Stoneridge increased the total quantity of keywords ranking in 2021 vs. 2020 from 7K to 10K for sitewide data. In addition Stoneridge also has improved keyword position distribution for page 1, 2, and 3… and it’s still climbing.

Shattering Revenue Goals

Fast forward a few months later and only 1 year into the relationship, Stoneridge experienced their biggest quarter ever. In Q1 of 2021, Stoneridge brought in $20.4 million in revenue. Their previous best quarter was $10 million.

Now, we can’t take credit for all of this. Stoneridge has a world-class reputation and a top-notch sales team. However, let’s go up the marketing funnel and look at what contributed to a 100% jump in revenue.

Funnel Metrics: 1 Year into Working with Metric

  • Traffic – up 25%, from 109k to 145k users
  • Sales Qualified Leads – up 15%, from 99 to 114
  • Opportunities Won – up 59%, from 132 to 210
  • Revenue – up 140%, from $8.5 million to $20.4 million

Continued work with Stoneridge

We continue to work closely with Stoneridge to think creatively about where and how to source qualified traffic and leads, and ultimately increase revenue. After the success seen in year one, Stoneridge “doubled down” on their monthly plan. Metric remains laser-focused on continuing to bring exponential growth to the Stoneridge team by creating and executing digital strategies that propel them beyond the competition.
